12.5 years for assisting a foreign organisation

On 20 November 2025, a resident of Tula was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for providing financial assistance to a foreign organisation in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation.

Money was transferred using a crypto exchange — from a bank card — to the account of a foreign organisation that was collecting funds to purchase uniforms, weapons, ammunition and drones for subsequent use "against the Russian military" and for preparing sabotage operations.

The amount of the transfer is unknown. However, based on the wording of the article itself and judicial practice, this is irrelevant for classification under the article on high treason.
