A graduate of one of the universities was charged with treason

On 2 December 2025, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow took into custody a graduate of the Higher School of Economics who graduated from the university this year. His thesis in mathematics at the Higher School of Economics was devoted to the classical Kuramoto model and its modifications.

The graduate of the Moscow school "Intellectual" and winner of mathematics competitions had been under "carousel arrests" for two months prior to this event. There were four of them in total (15 days each). After the end of the last arrest, a criminal case was opened on charges of treason.

The essence of the criminal case is unknown.

Unfortunately, young people make up a significant percentage of those involved in criminal cases of treason. As far as we know, no preventive measures (such as lectures on the subject) are being taken in universities.
